The multi-million pound regeneration of the old Sussex Square site in Swindon has now been fully completed 3 months ahead of schedule. This completes Pledge 8 of Swindon Borough Council's Vision for Swindon.

The Council pledged to complete the £10m Sussex Place development in Walcot which features a total of 48 properties. 38 of these are affordable rented homes for local families, with the remaining 10 properties to be sold as low-cost homes. This has been delivered on budget and ahead of schedule.
The homes are built to Code 4 of the Sustainable Homes Standards and the energy efficiency homes will help the residents to reduce their energy costs. The properties benefit from energy efficient fabric, good insulation, an efficient boiler, baths and kitchens to reduce water use.
The shops at Sussex Place opened in September 2015 and include a convenience store, post office, fast food outlet, and a community shop and library.
Jade Dewberry is thrilled with her new accommodation and has said:
"This is a lovely new development - I'm really excited by my brand new home in a nice area, with friendly neighbours. I'm sure we'll be really happy here."
Cllr Oliver Donachie, Cabinet Member for Housing and Homelessness, said:
"I am delighted that the entire scheme has been completed on time and on budget.
This regeneration success is excellent news and a good example of the Council's determination to provide quality housing in the Borough, so it is good to see such excellent progress in transforming the area and getting tenants back in.
I wish the tenants every happiness in their new, state of the art accommodation."
